Art Academy: Lessons For Everyone! stays true to its name by providing a wide range of lessons that anyone can learn from. Go at your own pace through the lessons with Vince, the in-game tutor, as he offers up insights on technique and examples from art history.
Over 30 lessons for all skill levels
Choose from a series of Introductory and Advanced lessons, depending on your skill level. These lessons explore art theory and techniques, allowing for a deeper understanding of what you're learning as you go.
Proceed step-by-step from pencil sketches, to mixing paints, layering and shading with different brush strokes, and more. Also learn techniques for colored pencils and pastels. Save your progress at any point to pick up where you left off later.
Create what you want in Free Paint mode
Want to just create to your heart's content? Free Paint mode gives you access to all the tools in the lessons, plus an expanded selection of colors and brush options. Choose from over 50 included motifs to draw from, including 3D subjects with a range of lighting options—or use your own photos taken with the Nintendo 3DS Camera. Use the skills you've learned in the lessons to create whatever you like.

Create and share Custom Lessons
Want to share your own pearls of artistic wisdom with friends? Create lessons from scratch using an included subject or your own photo, then adding steps and your own written instructions. Once your lesson is complete you can share it with people on your Friend List that own a copy of the game.
Save and display
your work
Save finished works to your Nintendo 3DS™ photo album, or to your in-game portfolio, which lets you place your work in a virtual 3D gallery space. You can also save a work-in-progress at any time to be finished later, or as an image in your photo album.
Goomba Lesson
This free downloadable lesson shows you how to draw a Goomba, of Super Mario Bros.™ fame. The lesson is available only from December 20 to January 10.
How to get the lesson
In order to receive this free lesson, make sure that the SpotPass™ feature is enabled on your Nintendo 3DS system in the Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone! game. Also make sure that your system is connected to the Internet.
How to turn on SpotPass
Turn on the game. From the title screen, go to the Game Options screen by selecting the button in the bottom right corner (it has a wrench on it.) From the Game Options screen, select "SpotPass Settings." From the SpotPass Settings screen, turn on Notifications by clicking the button.
